Our Mission

ARMS SpecialistsWe are a group of multi-specialty physicians who are experienced in high-acuity inpatient care. From the hospital to the acute rehab facility we embrace your medical needs as you transition through varying levels of care on your road to recovery. Partnering with select rehabilitation centers has allowed us to provide a high level of oversight previously unheard of in post-hospitalization care.

ARMS physicians are trained to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently. Moreover, through access to subspecialists such as Neurology and Nephrology, our physicians produce the highest level of care outside of a hospital setting. The end result of this is an industry revolution in quality of care, rehab length of stay reduction, and unprecedented decline in hospital readmissions.

A hospital stay is an intimidating time for both the patient and family. The thought of life-threatening illness, major surgery, or progressively worsening debility presents a change in lifestyle or independence which can be difficult to face without a physician willing to help. Even the decision to enter a short-term rehabilitation facility comes with a degree of uncertainty. Who will take care of me? Will I still see a doctor who understands what I am going through? Can a rehab facility handle my needs during this critical time in my life?

Acute Rehab Medicine Specialists narrows the gap in the level of care traditionally seen between inpatient and outpatient facilities. ARMS physicians are more experienced in caring for patients during the acute phase of illness, round on patients more frequently, and make a special effort to be more available to patients and families than what has traditionally been accepted as standard of care. Patients under our care are seen at least four times more frequently than what has been mandated in the past. This allows us to be pro-active in patient care and identify issues before they become a significant problem, not after. Furthermore, nursing staff has 24-hour direct access to the ARMS physician caring for the patients at a given facility, so there is no delay or confusion regarding treatment. There is no “middle man” that must be bypassed, which slows this process in so many facilities in other systems.
